In the year 2000 Denmark received the necessary permits from the EU to produce wine and today there are more than 60 wineries in Denmark, with more coming every year.
On our excursion to a wine house from Copenhagen, we visit one of the best wineries on Zealand. The winery visit can be combined with an excellent lunch or a visit to a nearby farm shop. It is possible to choose from a large number of wineries, but we recommend visits to either the winery Gabriel, Vexebo, Vejrhøj, Ørnberg or Weirdloose Overdrive, all among the country's best producers.
The tour starts with pick-up at the group's address (company address, hotel, or the like), and after a good hour's drive you reach the winery. At the winery you will start with a visit to the vines and with an introduction to the wine production, pruning, harvesting, etc. During the cellar visit you will see the production area and last but not least do a tasting of 3 of the winery's best wines.
If the trip goes to one of the wineries in West Zealand, the visit may be combined with an excellent lunch at Castle of Dragsholm or a visit to Roskilde (with a visit to the famous cathedral).
